Facebook has made some changes that has placed our Family Hearing & Balance Center & Cardinal Hearing Centers Facebook right into your News Feed. When I first heard this, I asked, “News Feed? Where is the News Feed in FB?”
My understanding is that Facebook had been receiving complaints from the member base that business postings were causing their Main Page to scroll constantly, and they were missing their little nieces birthday, or baptism, or family stuff in general. But, they didn’t want to lose the business notifications either, so Facebook’s solution was to place it in another feed than the Main Page, and it lands in the News Feed. Again, what and where is the News Feed? If you look on the left margin of your Facebook Page, it is the first category under Favorites. Then if you want to catch up with that business, you can go there.
The problem was that Facebook didn’t tell anyone. We were having patients ask us if we shut down our site because they enjoyed the stories and the educational posts. The boss looked at me, and I could only shrug my shoulders. Through phone calls and looking on line I found out the above. Below are instructions that you can use to receive Notifications from our site, or other Business Facebook Sites, and what type of notifications. (This is desktop instructions only, and may not be able to access on mobile devices.)
Go to the Business Site, click the down arrow beside Liked and click Notifications (Red Arrow)
Then click All Posts, or the individual post of your liking. (Red Arrow)
Click Done, and those notifications will land on your Main Page again. In the event that you don’t want to receive further notification of a post, click the arrow on the top right of the post and click Turn off Notification. This will stop one notification string without blocking the whole page.
We hope this will create a better Facebook experience for you, and here’s to us landing where you want us to land. Good luck everyone.
This was very helpful Dale! Thank you.

I can’t find this option on my mobile phone so it must only be able to be changed on a computer.
Thanks Amy, I added that into the Blog. Great point.
Thank you Dale.
