Too Much Sound, Jen Subotnik, Front Office Team.

Jen, in our Front office at Family Hearing and  Balance Center, sent this email out yesterday. Thank you for such a nice story.

Yesterday, I received a phone call from a desperate Mom. She stated she was looking for ETY plugs. Since I am newer to our office and the wonderful world of helping people to hear, I asked the mother to elaborate on what exactly are ETY plugs. She educated me that her young daughter is autistic and the plugs were to help make the world more quiet for her. Her autism makes noises around her amplified and overwhelming. This was an interesting thought to me. Here, at our office, we are in the business of helping to amplify sounds and yet some of us going through this crazy world called life, actually need the opposite!

What would that be like to never escape the loud noises of everyday life? Happily, the mother was able to find the plugs for her daughter and I learned something new that I will think about for a long time.
