Tinnitus: It’s right in front of me…….By Dr. Richard Reikowski, Au.D Family Hearing and Balance Center

When something is right in front of us, it’s often hard to look around. Things that are in front of us, such as a taller person, sitting behind someone at a performance or movie distract from the enjoyment of the event or what we’re watching. Tinnitus can very much do the same. It may not visually distract us but it can be the “tallest” most obtrusive thing in the room. It pulls away our attention to our loved ones and things we care about.

It’s the goal of our staff to help put the negative affects of tinnitus behind you. It’s a priority of ours to be a part of the solution. The “solution” can be defined in so many ways from a discussion to clinical hearing devices and tinnitus management modes of helping.

So true, like a loud ticking clock when you’re trying to read.

Thanks Gail! Yes, there are some sounds that are so difficult to ignore like a clock.
