Communication through the years has changed, adapted, and various acronyms mean many new words with new meanings. BRB, be right back, is used quite often by people of a certain age. You know who you are…:) What phrases did you grow up using and or heard that wouldn’t be used often today?
Hearing loss causes words that sound similar to be misunderstood. Let’s look at the words east and feast, two quite similar sounding words that can be so easily misheard if a person has a high frequency hearing loss. Missing words on a regular basis, and misunderstanding those we are around, can create difficult and embarrassing situations. It’s our goal to educate, offer solutions, and then to fully engage in a meaningful way with those that need help with their hearing and tinnitus. We also are happy to offer insight about cochlear implants and balance related concerns.
Ohhhh there are a lot that come to mind!….. peace, rock on!
Good ones Gail! How about Rad?
Such important information! It’s not always not hearing the words, but also misunderstanding them.
Thank you Elizabeth! That’s a great point the hearing and understanding are quite different.
