“Music to my Ears”… By Dr. Richard Reikowski, Au.D Family Hearing and Balance Center

Young woman singing with the microphone

Hello Dr . Reikowski  *:) happy
I  just wanted to write you an email and update you on how my hearing aids are helping me in regards to my singing and playing music.  There is no doubt that it has helped me substantially.  The clarity that I can now hear of my own voice is incredible.   My new hearing aids has alleviated much frustration on and off stage.  It always seemed as though my performance was contingent upon a very delicate balance between a good sound engineer and the perfectly set monitor mix.  Of course, on top of that there is was always an ongoing battle of being able to hear myself despite the volume of the band. It was very frustrating for me.  Always second guessing myself.   I feel as though I have control of that now due to my ability to change up my settings on my phone to suit my needs.  Does wonders for my confidence level as well!
The ability to set my volume for each ear and my being able to have control of the bass & treble (dependent upon my musical situation at the time) has alleviated a number of issues with regards to singing and playing.   Also, the intense clarity of the sound of my guitar in my ears is just phenomenal, so beautiful.  I also have the ability to hear instruments playing together and being able to pick out each instrument separately of there sounds and not just in there entirety as a whole (I hope this makes sense).
In regards to hearing in restaurants or in a quieter setting with a friend – just being able to have the freedom to go to my phone app and change the settings to my own needs is just a blessing.
Thank you so much for all of your help.  It’s so much appreciated!
L. C.

The ability to change settings through an app really is incredible! Love this testimony of how the app can really help change everyday life.

It’s great that patient’s now have the ability and are able to control their aids. With all the different settings in the outside world, with hearing aids before you simply couldn’t adjust to the different settings encountered. Now its so much nicer to be able to hear better and control hearing. Hearing people would not understand this but hearing impaired people sure do!

This is great to hear that they can be so finely adjusted by the patient, and they are able to do all the things they want freely without worrying about the noises in their environment.
