I saw this picture recently of Stephen Lippy, his brothers, as well as his father Dr. William H. Lippy. This picture caused me to take a moment and appreciate the opportunity, a few years back, of working together closely in their practice. I had the opportunity to serve as a Clinical Audiologist as well as Director for the Lippy Hearing Aid Center for many years. Stephen Lippy, as the Practice Administrator, has a business mind unlike no other. Clear and direct he ran the practice as well as encouraged the staff to have a real internal “connection and relationship” to the practice. I have always admired that!
I recall the great moment I had in observing Dr. William H. Lippy perform a stapedectomy surgery, one in which he pioneered, in approximately 1995. Standing side by side, with Dr. Lippy, during surgery was a highlight of my early career as well as helped focus my interests toward the clinical side of Audiology. Dr. Lippy has helped countless amounts of our patients with surgical improvements of their hearing. I learned a great deal from both Stephen Lippy and his father, Dr. William H. Lippy, of focus, drive, dedication, as well as confidence in what we do is so very important. We all can make a difference.
I am also fortunate to have worked closely with John Burkey, M.A., CCC/A, Clinical Audiologist and Clinical Director of Audiology at the Lippy Group for ENT. John has dedicated much of his career toward research gathering and publication of surgical outcomes as well as self published books on hearing loss. He is a testament to loyalty and true dedication in his work with Dr. Lippy, the staff, as well as most importantly has advised his patients with unbiased best recommendations both surgically as well as with hearing devices.
Thank you to each of these three men for helping in the early foundation of my career. We all owe very much to the many people that walk in our life and career!
