I had the best laugh this morning with a young lady, in her 60’s. She and I discussed her hearing loss and overall how she’s doing. She said she is just fine and is very well pleased with her hearing. She is also working in a secretarial position.
She and I began talking about various things that we go about life experiencing, from family, politics, to TV shows. We had the most amazing laugh that made us boh have to stop and catch our breathes. Isn’t it great to be able to feel so relaxed with someone to be able to laugh so freely? How often do we have those moments? I am fortunate to have a close relationship with our patients that this occurs many times a day.
We are very blessed to have the opportunity to get to know our patients as we do. To laugh is very healing. It allows a person to let their guard down and share about many aspects of their hearing, vertigo/balance issues, as well as tinnitus.
