It may look easy….

It’s like anything, those that have experience and knowledge, make it look easy. Whether it be a certain skill developed, after many years of time and effort, many can make rather complicated things in life look very simple.

Take sailing for example, I am continuing to learn to sail and better myself by asking questions and seeking advice from those with high levels of skill. I continue to be impressed with the level of sharing and teaching of people with amazing sailing experience. Setting the sail on the water and boat repairs, takes a good level of experience. Sailing, and sometimes even coming in last place, is a humbling experience but I remind myself that it should be taken for what it is, an experience. Seeing the achievements and talents of others is enlivening and encouraging. After all, many have years and decades of experience to be where they are.

We should seek to learn how to become better and learn all we can, for in this, we better ourselves. Seeing others do better and win, such as in racing, is a great moment to take part in. One day, I will beat my wife sailing….. LOL! She’s getting very good and I love every bit of how her sailing skills are showing!

The specialty field of Audiology is equally a field that can appear quite simple and even easy, but to achieve this, much experience and knowledge is needed to best care for others. Educating oneself in the areas of hearing, tinnitus, balance, cochlear implants is a worthy field to help improve others quality of life. We often may “make it look easy”.
