“I hear with my eyes”, says a patient with hearing loss…… Dr. Richard S. Reikowski, Au.D Family Hearing and Balance Center

“I live in a world that is simpler, because it’s quieter…..

I hear feelings much better than I hear words and speech. I feel like I can hear the emotion behind words.

Living with a hearing loss comes with many challenges….. and some are blessings.

I hear with my eyes.”

These words were so powerful and had a deep meaning to he and I. They are from a younger patient having lived with a severe hearing loss with no use of hearing devices. This is the beginning of a topic that I will keep you informed as we consider improvements for his hearing.

The conversation we had was enthralling and yet not long enough…..
