I can hear my turn signal…. By Dr. Richard Reikowski, Au.D Family Hearing and Balance Center

Is hearing the turn signal important?   Yes, it sure is as this can be a safety issue.  After a patient was fit with new digital hearing devices, he found that the turn signal was audible, much sharper, and overall speech is as well! He went on to share how he heard at a church meeting that was held at an outside pavilion. The speech was much clearer, better ease especially with those wearing masks, and even when necessary, changing the volume on the devices was wonderful. Having the ability to hear, not only with being outside, with surrounding wind and noises, meant the world to this man who formerly felt disconnected. He feels much more “pulled in” to the conversations and most importantly to the world and people around him!

The turn signal may seem simple and non-existent, but how important it truly is. Hearing the signal can mean a life saving benefit as not being turned off can result in a car accident.

I have found that the turn signal doesn’t always go off when making round about turns based on the steering wheel movement. If someone pulls out in front of you, thinking you are turning, that can definitely be a bad thing.

Since he can now hear his turn signal, he may also be able to hear other sounds, that if not heard while driving, could be a safety issue.
