This coming from a patient with a severe to profound hearing loss, during her first checkup she said, “I couldn’t believe that I could hear when I put Wite-Out on paper at work”. Hearing the roller of the Wite-Out amazed her. She felt that her brain has not heard these sounds especially back in the day, as she put it, with the brush on type….:)
To hear such small things in life will result in hearing the meaningful parts of speech. She also shared having heard many other exciting and interesting sounds, that have always been there, but now new to her. She’s enjoying this new part of life and her surroundings! With time, she feels quite confident to adjust to these new sounds around her. Shouldn’t we all hope to not take for granted the gift of hearing and bringing it to others.
The excitement and newness of hearing sounds, that were missing, is something to enliven us all!
It’s definitely something we shouldn’t take for granted.
How true that is Tiffany. It is easy to do.
It’s the little things that make the big difference.
Yes, it most certainly is the small and little things Mary!
That’s wonderful!
Glad you enjoyed this Gail!
LOL!!
I will have to check that out.
I actually went home and tried it out and I can hear a clicking sound as it’s rolled over the paper.
