Hearing like a child….

When asked how she described her new hearing aids, she said that she was hearing again like when she was a child. I asked her more about this and she shared how her prior hearing aids, over the last 20 years, have helped make the world louder but there were many situations where she had difficulty with the clarity of words. Sounds are now heard as she remembers they used to be, prior to her hearing loss.

Now, she describes sound and speech as absolutely amazing! The entire picture of words and speech is clear and heard. It’s amazing….. and the world is vibrant and full.

As an audiologist, I am amazed at how we have the ability, with certain hearing aids and digital processing, to offer the ability to return a patient’s hearing to what it should be!
