Bacon…..it’s quite an attention getter. Bacon has a smell and taste all it’s own. It brings comfort to many and to some concerns of being a non-healthy food. Moderation is the key and enjoyment of the moment. We can imagine the taste, the crunch, the toast and eggs sitting beside the bacon. It’s an image and a reality that is vivid.
What brings joy to you? Is it the close moments with friends and family. Certainly, in these days of Covid and social distancing, this has been much reduced. When we do have moments with our loved ones, it may be over a virtual call or with others while wearing masks. Difficulties hearing and understanding is quite challenging and nearly impossible for those that rely on facial cues and lipreading. When looking at the person speaking to us, we gather essential information of what’s being said. The sounds D and B are easily seen on the lips. The words east and feast can sound similar but the E and F are easily distinguished when seen. We help those that have hearing loss achieve their best potential of communication. Even with the use of masks, we strive to return the missing speech sounds so that they are not only audible but understandable. Improving hearing and seeing the joy in the face of those we serve is wonderful. Enjoy your bacon and conversation with others….
Food definitely brings me joy!! And I enjoy helping people whenever I can!
Same here Gail!
I like clean sheets, and warm socks.
Good choices Dale!
It’s wild the amount of things you miss with the mask with normal hearing. Good thing technology has come to where it is today to help people in such a profound way during these times.
How true Mary! Well said!
Very well said! I think we can all agree that bacon brings everyone joy.
Thanks Tiffany! Agree!
