Chocolate + Milk and my hearing…..By Dale Hansen, Practice Admin. Family Hearing and Balance Center

I learned that if one takes a glass of regular milk, and drops a couple dollops of chocolate into the glass, that doesn’t make it chocolate milk. One has to take a spoon and stir it for it to become chocolate milk. Even then, it sometimes requires adding chocolate to taste, and stir again. We have to do the work to obtain the wanted results.
It’s sometimes hard to put into words, but if I was required to, I would compare my hearing loss this way.

With my hearing aids, the metaphor follows. I have to adjust, clean, change batteries, go to the audiologist and get adjustments. Otherwise, following the story line, I would just have white milk, with a glob of chocolate in the bottom. No one should have to drink that.
