Dr. Patton and Ryan had a great screening day at Laurel Lake! Couldn’t have done it without the help of NOAC’s first-year doctoral students 🦻
Ryan, our 4th year Au.D Doctoral intern shared, I have been a fan of community outreach, especially what has been done by Dr. Patton in regard to Laurel Lake. Just the other day, we had a new event with our doctoral program NOAC, where we performed hearing screenings and hearing aid cleanings for the residents. Four first-year students joined in, for one of their first adult screening opportunities, and they all did quite well! Otoscopy (looking in the ears) and hearing screenings were performed. Afterward, the residents were given explanations of their hearing results along with information about the low-hearing group, Laurel Lake hosts for residents on Tuesdays.
Afterward, many are pursuing full hearing evaluations to gain a better understanding of their hearing loss. I am very glad we were able to offer hearing education and screenings at Laurel lake. We also provided cleaning of patients’ hearing devices, as needed. This was a really fun experience and I am sure the doctoral students also agree!
Thank you to Dr. Patton, Au.D for arranging the care provided at Laurel lake!
What an amazing experience for those students!
Yes, I agree and it had to be fun!
Well done Dr. Patton and Ryan for helping with the NOAC students! I appreciate Laurel Lake for allowing us to work with the screenings.
Great Job Guys!!!

So glad it turned out to be a great day for everyone!

This is the best pic I think we have ever done.
