An Extension of Ourselves……By Kelly Workman, Au.D Cardinal Hearing Centers

A patient came in for a follow up visit after her fitting which took place a couple of weeks ago, during which time the hearing aids were set according to her specific hearing needs and fit to comfort in her ears. Upon walking in the office for her follow up visit, she reported that she “wears these hearing aids more than ever” compared to her previous set of devices.

It is remarkable how far hearing aids have come even in a few short years. They can provide more volume in a much smaller device, better clarity, and better access to speech in background noise. A well-fit set of hearing aids should feel comfortable like an old pair of running shoes, sound as clear as a bell ringing, and be as natural as an extension of yourself.”

Yes, we can all relate to how it feels when something just “fits” and never feel the need to take it off. So good!
